Roseann Kebles
Dear Fellow INBA Members,
I love Nubians and I believe they own some very special people!
I'm proud to be a member of the INBA and I'm proud of what has
been accomplished in the past ten months by the Officers, the BOD,
and the Committees to continue the future success of our Nubian
Breed Club. It has been a positive experience working as INBA newsletter
editor, chairing the INBA Publicity Committee, and serving on the
INBA Constitution and By-Law Committee.
Yes, I am active and I am also committed! I have enjoyed putting
together the Nubian News and communicating with the membership
plus working with a great group of people on the publicity committee
and C&BL committee. If there is one area that I think is needed
for the forward movement and continued success of the INBA is that
a Membership Committee needs to be added as a standing committee
to address the wants and needs of the membership. If elected I
would strongly support the addition of this committee. My next
action would be to open the INBA up to more Youth Programs, because
what is our club if we don't look toward and support our future
and that is our youth? I am a strong proponent of a Youth Membership
and Youth Programs. As a past employee in my states cooperative
extension service I have witnessed the uncertain future of 4H Dairy
Goats and the costs and materials fees added for participation.
Let's offer our youth a secure place in the INBA!
It would be an honor and my pleasure to serve you as INBA Director.
If you agree that these are issues that need to be addressed in
the INBA will you please consider voting for me?
Thank You,
Roseann Kebles

Dear Fellow INBA Members:
I find it much easier to respond to e-mails than to sit down and
actually compose a letter setting out why I would like to be considered
as a candidate for one of the vacant Board of Directors’ seats
that will be filled this fall. However, here goes.
My husband and I have a small herd of goats comprised of Nubians
and Boer/Nubians. I show the Nubians in our local dairy goat shows,
and the Boer/Nubians are used as seedstock for FFA and 4-H members
who show market goats in the South Central Texas area. We live
in Franklin, Texas which is about 40 miles north of Bryan-College
Station, the home of Texas A&M University, where I work weekdays
as a legal secretary.
I have been a member of the American Dairy Goat Association for
ten years and the International Nubian Breeders Association for
two years. I am the past president of the South Central Texas Goat
Club and its current secretary, and I sit on our local Robertson
County Fair Association Board of Directors and the fair’s
Market Goat Committee. This year I have chaired the INBA’s
Breeder of Excellence Award Committee and have greatly enjoyed
working with and getting to know a number of members of our breed
association. I believe my experience working with numerous boards
of directors would be an invaluable asset to INBA.
Most people will agree with me when I say that the International
Nubian Breeders Association is one of the strongest and most well
organized of the dairy goat breed associations. Just look at our
website and the wealth of information available to anyone who visits
it! Areas of improvement, in my mind, would be adding more emphasis
on youth participation in INBA, and refining areas of our Constitution
and By-Laws regarding membership dues and voting rights. I would
also like to see a non-voting, youth membership offered in INBA,
and perhaps an annual Young Nubian Breeder Award given to a deserving
junior member.
I am proud to be a member of such a vibrant organization and would
be honored to serve as a member of your board of directors.
Sincerely,
Caroline Lawson

Pete Patnode
I am Pete Patnode and I am running for INBA Director.
Some of you know me, but many may not. Those that do know me.
Know that I am committed to the Nubian Breed and will work hard
to promote it and represent the Breeders to the best of my ability.
I will work hard on the concepts of team work and communication
in hopes to excel in promoting the Nubian breed and the INBA
as a organization.
For those who may not know me here's a little about myself. My
adorable wife Debbie and I live in Hermiston, Or. Where we have
been Raising and Showing Nubians for about 14 years. At present
we have about 37 Nubians on our Sand-Bur-Kid Ranch. We exhibit
at between 8 to 10 shows each year and stay busy also with our
jobs outside the home. I am a Correctional Officer in a near
by Correctional Facility where I deal with all kinds of people
and personalities each day. I also am President of the local
Umatilla County Dairy Goat Association. My favorite hobby and
pastime is goats or Nubian related projects. I love my Nubians.
As a director, I would like to push more Promotion on helping
the youth. Since they are our Future. I would also like to see
more people involved in our existing Programs.
I would also like to make INBA an Association People will want
to belong too and not feel that they have to belong.
So be sure to vote and hopefully for me.
Sincerely,
Pete Patnode

Tim Pruitt
Hi! I am Tim Pruitt with Pruittville Nubians from Haynesville,
LA. Although, I lead a busy life as a Pastor and Missionary -
the INBA is of importance to me and so I would like to offer
my service as a director. I started raising Nubians as a boy
in the 1970's and had one of the few purebred Nubian herds in
North Louisiana. When I married, I couldn't afford my Nubians
and a family too - so I took a "sabbatical" for about 15 or more
years. In the early 1990's I began raising Nubians again and
this time was able to show. We have participated in local shows,
linear appraisal and for the last couple of years have been fortunate
enough to go the Nationals. I have personally witnessed the wonderful
progress our breed has made as they are nothing like the high
hipped - steep rumped, dippy chine Nubians with sagging mammaries
that were back in the 1970s. In those days many breeders pictured
their animals on a block to make them appear uphill. This year,
I was able to visit the National Show as an observer and watched
many of you breeders show. There was quality all the way down
the line. I couldn't have been more proud of you breeders and
the animals that you presented. It shows our breed standard is
working. When I think back on the Nubians that I raised in the
1970's - "we have come a long way baby"! I am proud to be a part
of the breeders of the wonderful Nubian Breed. Nubians have always
been my first and only love when it comes to dairy goats. While
others do a great job of breeding more than one breed - my whole
focus is the Nubian. I am delighted to be a part of a club that
promotes this wonderful breed. The INBA has went forward in this
past year by leaps and bounds. I would like to see this momentum
continue.
The newsletter is one of quality - the website is superb - harmony
is again in our ranks as we focus on what we have in common - the
Nubian. It shows what we can do if we work together.
I want to thank everyone who voted for director. It is when we
get complacent that an organization begins a downward trend. If
I am elected, I hope to work together with the rest of the board
to continue to make the INBA the greatest goat club ever! We have
a wonderful breed to be proud of and we can continue to make INBA
a club that is a "cut above the rest".
If I would be so honored to be elected, I will take pleasure in
serving you.
Sincerely,
Tim D. Pruitt

Nina Schafer
I'm Nina Schafer, I now live in central California with
husband Tom and 100 Nubian goats, a few Barbados sheep, and an
assortment of other animals.
My experience with goats started in Canada in the late 1980's.
I was taken by the Nubian breed and pursued breeding & showing
them since that time.
Nubians have brought me many good things, many pleasures, good
friends and adventures in many different directions, while broading
my horizions.
Some of these include owning/operating a class A goat dairy, Being
a 4H Dairy Goat Project leader, Hosting shows (including working
on host committee of the 1999 National Canadian West Goat Show),
Hosting clinics, Milk Test, Hosting judges training, serving on
several local, regional & national clubs and committee's, and holding
my Pygmy judges license.
On the breeding front, I have taken part in Liniar Apprasial (Classification
in Canada), DHIA milk production testing, along with showing.
Among the GCH does I bred, Twice I have been thrilled to have an
animal I bred and sold awarded Canadian National Champion, Twice
a Reserve Canadian National Champion.
Since moving from Canada to the USA in 1998, after a battle with
breast cancer, I met Tom Schafer and fell madly in love with him.
Once Tom & I married, we found property and went to Canada to bring
what remainded of Anin's Nubians (my herd). Tom has learned to
share my love of Nubians.
Since then, I have enjoyed the ADGA conventions in Portland, Maryland,
and Nashville. I plan to continue to attend each year.
I've been pleased to serve on both ADGA and INBA committees.
We have apprasied the herd 4 times, being thrilled with several
animals scoring LA89, LA90, LA91.
I strongly feel that each and every member of any organization
is as important and valuable as any other.
If elected as your INBA director I pledge to act in the best interest
of the Nubian Breed and at the direction of the membership.
This year the slate of candidates appear to be all topnotch, any
in my opinion will do a great job.
Please take the time a vote,,
Nina Schafer

Karen Senn
Dear INBA Members,
I am seeking re-election as one of your INBA Directors once again.
While some of you may be familiar with me - I'm sure many are
not. I have been one of your directors for a number of years
now and served as President of INBA as well. My history of support
and promotion of this breed that we love so well covers several
decades. I have raised Nubians since the 60's when I purchased
my first two Nubians (can't have just one!) from Alice Hall of
Hallcienda Nubians. Our herdname is Kastdemur's. While the herd
began with my first purchase it expanded to include my parents
and brothers. Kastdemur's is now owned, bred and loved by my
daughters Krista & Erica and myself. We have lived in Redding
California for more than eight years now - and were previously
in Southern California.
Throughout the years we have participated in DHIA (group test
in the early years and now have an individual tester), Linear
Appraisal, Classification (in those old days!), local shows,
National Shows, field days, training sessions, and so on. I am
available through e-mail, phone, letters, or in person! I talk/listen/share
with Nubian breeders at shows, field days, conventions, national
shows.....wherever someone has a question I try to find the answer...if
I don't have it myself!
Having bred Nubians throughout these many years (can it be 40 years
already?) I have seen first hand the history of this breed - where
it's been, where it's going and what contributed to the beautiful
Nubians we are so familiar with now. It's an amazing journey we've
taken, and I appreciate very much the dedication that so many people
have given to our Nubians to make them what they are today.
Sharing knowledge and information with other Nubian breeders has
been a source of great satisfaction to me. Listening; caring; asking
questions; sharing breeding, feeding and management information
with others; helping to remember the good things we've accomplished
through the years through our clubs and associations, as well as
remembering the mistakes we've made and learning from those mistakes
are all a part of what makes each of us.
I feel that one of the more important contributions I can make
to the Nubian breed is to be a support to and promoter of the breed
in general. My background in business management helps me to understand
the workings of the analysis side of operating an association,
and my background in the years of raising Nubians helps me to understand
them....and the people who raise them.
Working together, we can continue the upswing that INBA is on right
now. Our Newsletter is beyond compare, our website is phenomenal.....our
board works hard to make solid decisions regarding the future of
our breed and this association. It takes the willingness to listen
to all sides of a subject, it takes creativity sometimes in finding
a solution, it takes time....patience.....perserverence.....and
dedication...all of which I feel I have demonstrated over the years.
I love this breed....and the individuals who raise and breed them......I
would also appreciate being given the opportunity to continue to
represent you as one of your directors for INBA....please consider
marking one of your choices for INBA director ---- Karen Senn.
Thanks!
Karen Senn
